Keep Your Precious Jewellery Shining Bright

Be it that chic diamond jewelry bought from your first paycheck or the heirloom gold ornaments, gifted by your beloved grandmother, each of us cherish the jewels in our own special way. Needless to say, every kind of jewelry need extra attention and care to ensure, it’s shared on to generations and loved as a possession.
Tips to keep the jewellery shiny and bright

Looking after your expensive diamond jewellery is no rocket science, just some periodic cleaning, packing and polishing is all that goes to keep it looking like a million bucks, year after year. Follow these easy tips to maintain your jewels at home and flaunt the sparkle, at every occasion.

•Antacids Trick
The easiest way to maintain the sheen of your gold ornaments and diamond jewelry is to dip them in a solution of regular antacid for about 2-3 minutes. Dissolve a small packet of any antacid in a glass of water and allow it to get frothy. Immerse the jewels in the solution for a maximum of 3 minutes and rinse with cold water thereafter.

•Beer blues
For those who thought beer’s only for consumption as a drink, here’s a piece of news. Beer can also be used as a cleaning agent for several objects/materials. Dip a clean piece of cloth in any beer of your choice (not dark ale) and gently rub the jewelry items to leave them spic and span clean. This is a great way to get the shine back on your white gold wedding rings and intricate earrings.

•Toothpaste Tales
Taking the dust particles off diamond and retaining their shine is no mean feat with a tube of toothpaste and an old toothbrush at your disposal. Just apply a little toothpaste onto the brush and gently rub the diamond/s in a circular motion for 3-4 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water for best results.
Note: Toothpaste should not be used on delicate gold ornaments or pearls as it can abrasive

•The Ketchup Song
Cleaning tarnished silver can be a gruesome task, but provided you try this simple trick, it shall no longer be so. Dunk your silver ornaments in a bowl of tomato ketchup (no spiced version please) for about 3-4 minutes. If the surface is intricate, use the bristles of a toothbrush to rub it. Trust us; you’d be thanking us later for this effortless cleaning spree.

•Bubble Bath
Soak your precious rings and bangles for a good time and cleaning. It is almost like a quick ornament spa; just dissolve a tsp of baking powder in a glass full of cold water. Immerse the jewelry pieces in it for about 5-6 minutes and see he dirt, dust and perfumes come off the pieces in a jiffy.

•Peroxide Promise
Mix in equal quantities of Hydrogen Peroxide and Cleaning solution (Windex/Colin) and soak your white gold engagement rings in the liquid for a about 3- 4minutes and rinse off with cold water thereafter.
